Every year ARIES selects students for Ph. D. program in the field of Astronomy & Astrophysics, Solar Physics and Atmospheric Sciences. The eligibility for Ph.D. Program at ARIES is following:

M.Sc. Physics/Astrophysics with minimum 55%

JEST/CSIR-NET (JRF/LS)/ GATE Qualified

M.Sc. final year students can also apply provided they are exepected to get their final exam results by August 1, 2012.

The selected candidates will go through a course work of one year before they will be assigned to research work. They will get a stipend of Rs.16000.00 per month for first two years and after successful completion of a review it will be raised to Rs.18000.00 per month. A book grant of Rs. 5000.00 per year is also provided.
